Title: Tater Time In Maine Scenic (ME), White Border PM 1932 Sep-17
Description:
When the farmers start in digging They will stop you on your way, They will smoke and chew tobacco While they talk about the pay; They say, "Fill up your baskets, Just as much as you can lug," For they're always in a hurry Till them 'taters are all dug. In the Village stores there's 'tater talk About their monstrous size; Some of these yarns they sound like truths, But a lot of them are lies; There is no whiskey to be had, Spring water in a jug, But there'll be an awful racket When them 'taters are all dug.

Description:
Sunset on Square Lake evening on Togue Pond See the mystery of light Robing fast approaching night Are scenes like these a passing mist. Compared to others that exist Beyond the bounds of earth and time? Such expectation is sublime These earthly scenes, what eye would miss? And who would sigh for more than this? Assured there is a world more fair. Lord, fit us for the glories there.

A Baby Deer In Maine This is the place for rod and gun. For trailing game till set of sun; In waters that abound in fish. The angler gets his dearest wish Such are they charms and summer grace, Thou welcomest with smiling face; Who comes here once comes oft again, A captive bound with Nature's Chain. Fishing is good in Maine.

Title: The State O' Maine Scenic (ME), Divided Back unused
Description:
If you are fond of travel this poem makes it plain When it comes to goin Places you can't beat. One afternoon while flying around within the state We was the sight of many lands as I will now related. We took off down in Mexico with an extra load of gas And when the tank was empty landed in the town of Bath. From Albion to Calais was just a little start So heading over Dover we soon passed thru Denmark. Frankfort had slipped beneath us, Norway was on our beam, Brunswick has disappeared behind them Lisbon too was seen. We sailed in sight of Sweden where spuds are freight car high, Of Stockholm and Vienna, of Madrid and Argyle. We circled over Moscow just in case the folks were home, The trip was barely started so we turned away for Rome. Naples did not detain us - Palermo not at all, Next Carthage, Colony of Troy - we were getting on the ball. Dresden was somewhat off the course - too bad, alas alack, Poland, Jemtland, Lubec, Bristol - all passed beneath our track. The course was set for China - Athens soon came in view, Corinth, Carmel, Canaan, Gilead, Hebron - Palmyra too. We nearly missed Sorrento, it would have been a shame, A paradise near Eden and on the Coast of Maine From Lebanon to Egypt then to canton. For a spree We sat down for an hour and tried the native tea. By now the sun was fairly low and so for something new We pointed north to Fairbanks right handy to Peru. This brought us close to Paris - it wasn't quite the same As what you mebbe have in mind for We were still in Maine.
