The rider leaps from his horse at full speed to the back of a wild range steer and throws him on the run by twisting his neck, grasping his horns, and with teeth in the animals nose forces him to the earth. Well, how tall is a man on horseback? Your guess is as good as the photographers. If you will measure these horns from tip to tip, you will find them to be just a little over eight feet. Here is dramatic proof of the great length of the horns of the Texas cattle which made the long, dusty trails from Texas to the markets at Dodge City and Denver just after the Civil War.
