Description:
City of the Silent Dead in Southwestern Colorado. Mesa Verde (Spanish for Green Table Land) National Park contains the most extensive and best preserved ruins of the prehistoric cliff dwellers. The Cliff Palace, largest and most noted of the ruins, is 300 feet long - contains about 200 rooms - and is situated high on the rim several hundred feet above the bottom of Cliff Canon.
