This magnificent old home is now a museum of historic river boat days. This area of Washington Avenue is the center of mansions of Civil War and Steamboat times of Cairo. Magnolia Manor, an iron lacework trimmed home was purchased for posterity by the Cairo Historical Association. Guided tours are available to the public. Here Grant visited in 1880 at the home of his old friend, Charles Galiger, after eight hectic years as President and a tour of the world.
