This automatically provides 2,216,000 acre feet additional storage capacity in the reservoir, sufficient to store any large unforeseen of-season flood. The spillways are each large enough in all dimensions to float the greatest battleship in the world.

Boulder Dam is the highest in the world, 727 feet from bedrock to crest, and is a city block thick at the base (650 feet).
