Title: St. Peter Church Roswell New Mexico (NM), Chrome unused Description: THE FRANCISCANS FROM CINCINNATI, OHIO HAVE SERVED ST. PETER'S CHURCH SINCE IT WAS FOUNDED IN 1903.		Title: Chaves County Court House Roswell New Mexico (NM), Chrome unused Description: This is one of the city's fine public buildings, Roswell is surrounded by thousands of fertile acres growing alfalfa, cotton, corn, vegetables and other crops. It is in the midst of fine sheep and cattle range sections and enjoys a healthful climate throughout the year.

Title: Chaves County Court House Roswell New Mexico (NM), Chrome unused Description: In 1869 two adobe buildings were constructed at this stop on the Old Chisholm Trail to serve as general store, post office, and hotel. On March 4, 1871, Van Smith filed the first claim, 3 years later he was appointed postmaster, and the place was named Roswell for his father. Capt, Joseph C. Lea Came in 1877 and bought Smith's holdings, and a year later his father-in-law, Major W. W. Wildy bought out Wilburn and two other settlers, and presented this property to his daughter, Sally Wildy Lea. This is the home of the largest artesian well in the United States, New Mexico Military Institute, Walker Air Force Base. The Bottomless Lakes State Park, famed for its summer playground is close by.

M., one of the pioneer towns of early days when the "cowboy was king" and rival cattle barons fought their battles in the days of "Billy the Kid" and the Lincoln county wars nearby. Now it is an educational centre - home of the splendid N. M. Military Institute - With varied interests.		Title: Chaves County Court House Roswell New Mexico (NM), Linen unused Description: Roswell is the seat of Chaves County, and the court house is reputed to be one of the most beautiful buildings of the kind in the Southwest. Cattle, sheep, farming and fruit growing, all helped by the year around climate, are the principal industries of the county.
