Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Augusta, Ga. This church was started in 1898 and consecrated in 1907. The cornerstone was laid during the turn of the 20th century. The architecture was under the direction of Brother Otten. Because of the unusual architecture of the brick work the present estimated value is over one-half million dollars.

Built 1750. The White House, Augusta, Ga., where Col. Brown, a British Officer, is said to have been besieged by Americans. On the point of surrender he was relieved by reinforcements and captured 30 wounded Americans. He had 13 of these hanged just outside of his door and turned the others over to the Indians to be tortured.
