One of the block houses of Civil War days, recently removed to Carroll Plaza, named for Charles Carroll of Carrollton. The Plaza is surrounded by majestic colonial structures, a part of the dragon-Indian fort, the Fort Scott of 1842.

One of the most modern swimming pools in Kansas. Filtered water is used and life guards are on duty at all times. The pool, on Main Street near downtown Fort Scott, is part of a Park development which also includes tennis courts, a mammoth Band Shell and stage.

Elm Creek Lake, just south of Fort Scott, or one half mile off highway 39. Built by Federal Project costing approximately $360,000. This lake has been well stocked with game fish. Modern shelter cabins on both sides of lake make this an ideal place for picnicking, boating and fishing.
