Title: State Normal School at Monmouth Monmouth (OR), Divided Back unused
Description:
State Normal School at Monmouth, property of the State of Oregon, worth over $100,000.00, centrally located as to population, a school for training teachers. Don't abandon this valuable plant. Vote YES for Monmouth. Education of the boys and girls should be our first consideration. As future citizens, they must have the best opportunities possible in the public school - the great bulwark of our nation - for beyond this but few ever advance. All the other States maintain Normal Schools. The Government conducts normal training. Oregon will have a Normal, and Monmouth is the pioneer school. It is good business to maintain this plant and give the children of Oregon the advantage of the best teachers. If you pay taxes on $1000.00 it will cost you only four cents a year. Vote for Monmouth, and sustain in Oregon trained instructors for our rural schools, and give your children equal advantages with the city school. This will enable us to keep the boys and girls at home, relive the shortage in the supply of teachers, settle the policy of the State on the Normal School question, and separate it from politics. Vote YES for Monmouth

Title: The Bomber Milwaukie (OR), Chrome unused
Description:
The Bomber Highway 99E - Milwaukie, Oregon Never in the history of man did a nation demand so much of a single weapon of war; as America demanded of the B17. This famous Bomber of World War II has a gross weight of 32 ton, 10 crew members, and a gasoline capacity in excess of 3,000 gallons. The wing span is 105 feet and 75 feet in length. It cost the government approximately $500,000.00. Many B17's are still in peace time use. But here are a few of their famous wartime sisters, which will never be forgotten. The Suzy Q flew more long range bombing missions against the Japanese than any other plane. The Werewolf came home on one engine after losing the other three over Brest. Flaming Jenny came home with over 2000 bullet holes and on fire from nose to tail and Colin Kelly sank the Japanese battleship Haruna in a flying fortress. This B17 is placed here as a memento to the passing era of the propeller driven airplane. Art Lacey, Owner

Title: Columbia River Highway, Multnomal Falls, Benson and Highway Bridges (OR), White Border unused
Description:
Multnomah Falls, unquestionably the queen of all American Cataracts. The stream rises out of Larch Mountain, the famous viewpoint of the Cascades, to which a trail is built. It has many falls along its picturesque course and the climax of its dashing is the smashing leap it makes for union with the Columbia. There are, in fact, two falls. Title: Pillars of Hercules, Columbia River Highway, Oregon (OR), White Border unused
Description:
PILLARS OF HERCULES The Highway here presents a splendid view of those Columnar basalt formations known as the "Pillars of Hercules" which were no doubt thrust upon the earth by some violent volcanic disturbance in the distant past. By the ancients, the rocks of Gibraltar and the Atlas Mountain guarding the Mediterranean Sea, known then as Atlantes, and regarded as the entrance into the unknown, were called the Pillars of Hercules. This fanciful name seemed very appropriate to those old pioneers following the trail along the Columbia River and between the larger pillars. The tree on the crest of the larger pillar stands over 40 feet in height and is perhaps one hundred years old
