The Olympic Swimming Pool at Ocean Beach Park is so called because it is 50 meters long and 20 meters wide, built to accommodate Olympic try-outs. Its capacity is 450,000 gallons of salt water, recirculated through a purification plant which filters and treats the water with chlorine. Around the sides are 36 floodlights for underwater lighting, and floodlights overhead. The promenade has bleachers seating 2,500, for pool shows, exhibitions, and swmming meets
