Description:
The "Old Suspension Bridge" is built across the Brazos River in downtown Waco. Built in 1870, it still remains in daily use. It was the first bridge over the Brazos and made Waco an important center from East to West. It was built by Roebling of New York, who later patterned and built the Brooklyn Bridge after it.

Located in Fort Fisher Park, near the site of an 1837 Ranger outpost, the Hall of Fame offers a multimedia show depicting the more than 150 years of Texas Ranger history. The neighboring gun collections and includes weapons that belonged to Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, Wyatt Earp, Butch Cassidy and Billy the Kid. An active Ranger company is housed in the Museum building.

Built 1901-1902. McLennan County was organized in 1850 with Waco as the County Seat. Until the early 20th century the county outstripped the city in population and prosperity. Today the figures are reversed. This Courthouse, the county's fourth, was built during the peak of central Texas cotton wealth. Housed here are numerous State, County and District Courts with an extensive law library open to all citizens. Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. - 1970.

Lovers Leap faces on the Bosque River near a point where it empties into the Brazos, and commands a view of the farm lands and plains to the east of the city. About it hangs the atmosphere of an old Indian legend of the lovers who made a desperate leap from safety from the top of the cliffs to the waters of the Bosque below them. they were driven to seek this dangerous mode of escape pursued, as they were, by the father and brothers of the maiden, who wanted to part the lovers since they belonged to warring tribes - she to the Huacos, he to the Apaches. Death halted their flight, so the story goes, in the turbulent waters of the river into which they flung themselves, but the cliff above them received a name.
