The Café Lafayette
Title:
The Café Lafayette
Brooklyn New York (NY), White Border unused

Description:
There's a café down in Ninth Street, In the center of the town - Its atmosphere's Parisian, Its cuisine has renown. The only haunt of bygone days That keeps a welcome yet, And may it last while I do The Café Mafapette. We Yankees are a vandal race, And tear our altars down to make way for office buildings On the sites our memories crown; the northward march of progress Spares the place we can't forget, And leaves us still to cherish the Cafe Mafapette. Old Freddie lives beyond the seas; so, too, did dear old Joe; Our Clarence does not climb so much; Poor Eddie has no show. On my return from exile, Why! My eyes with tears are wet, I miss so many faces in the Cafe mafapette. Our friendships form a heritage, Surviving time and space; Our memories, the golden bonds Which hold them in their place; Association hallows. Every spot where we have met. Have they got a place in heaven, Called The Cafe Mafapette.
