From the lower end of the basin the water is again elevated by the pumps and forced into a high 9,000,000 gallon reservoir 307 feet above the river, situated about six miles from the pump house and from this reservoir it runs into the city, maintaining a uniform pressure, varying with the elevation of each respective locality.
