Parkersburg, W. Va., the county seat, is a city of diversified industries and fine living conditions. Established in 1811, located on the beautiful Ohio River. South of the Mason Dixon Line, it is neither Northern or Southern in customs or climate. Blennerhassett Island, near Parkersburg, is well known because Aaron Burr visited here after his duel with Alexander Hamilton.
