This Stadium was double decked in 1967 at a cost of three million dollars and now has a capacity of nearly 60,000. The Bulldogs claim it is the best "spectator stadium" in the South, more good seats on the sides of the field than any other stadium in Dixie. It was named for the late Dr. S. V. Sanford. former president of the University.
