Raffaello Santi, born 7th April 1483 at Urbino, died 6th April 1520 at Rome. Architect and Painter. Pupil of his father Giovanni Santi at Urbino, and also of Timoteo Viti at Urbino. He was assistant of Pietro Perugino at Perugia. At Florence since 1504 he was influenced by the works of Leonardo and Fra Bartoloemeo, he exercised his art at Urbino, Perugia, Floreno and since 1508 at Rome, He was the head of the Roman School, With Michelangelo he was the most genial artist of the Renaissance.
