M. Bleriot is a Frenchman, and made the first Channel flight between Dover and Calais, which won him the congratulations of the whole world. He has performed several successful flights, and at the first day's speed trials at Rheims had the satisfaction of accomplishing the fastest time, and was also second in the Gordon - Bennett Cup. The last day at Rheims was marred by his being severely burned owing to his machine catching fire.
