Land purchased April 26, 1847 for $306. Building when completed cost approximately $80,000. Cornerstone laid May 9, 1869. Contents several medals, silver coins, one of 1776, one greenback, one "grayback," a small silver crucifix and publications. Church older than State of West Virginia.
