The great state of Indiana became a Territory on May 8th 1800. and was admitted to the Union on December 11th 1816. It is predominately a manufacturing state having over 8,000 industries. It ranks their in steel production and its diversified crops are combined with stock raising and high grade dairy farms. Indianapolis, besides being the capital, is also known as the capital of auto racing.
