| Soldiers and Sailors Home, Erie Pa., located at the foot of Ash Street, was opened on February 22, 1886 to veterans who have served in the wars, and who have had an honorable discharge from the branch of the service they served. At the present time there are still veterans from the Spanish-American War at the Home. there are 20 buildings on this spacious lot of 103 acres. including "Mad" Anthony Wayne's blockhouse. |
