Founded in California 1772. The Mission San Luis Obispo de Toloso (St. Louis, Bishop of Toloso, nephew of the King of France) was founded in 1772, and was a thriving agriculture center when the Declaration of Independence was signed. The church with its many interesting relices is still used for worship.
