Gracie Ann Welsh, Miss Indian America XXIV Mohave-Chemehuevi-Yavapai. From Parker, Arizona, enrolled with the Colorado river Indian Tribes. Miss Welsh is well qualified by experience with inter-tribal cooperation to assume the responsibility of representing all Indians. She participates with enthusiasm in rodeo, music, sports and traditional skills. She advocates knowledge and practice of native culture as a means to enrich our total human experience. Gracie's Mohave Name, "Mesh-hi-hewah-ahote," good Hearted Girl, describes her approach to her reign, 1977-78 through the 25th National Miss Indian America Pageant, July 28, 29 and 30, 1978, sponsored by All American Indian Days, Inc., box 451, Sheridan WY 82801.
