Description:
X marks approximate spot- Waynesburg College Geology Station. At our Waynesburg College Geology Station here at Florissant, big things are in the making. We have completed our second summer course in Geology. Our rock, mineral and fossil collection at the Station is large, diversified, and already more adequate than found in most American universities. We are now making collections to share with other museums. This year Carnegie Museum will be the recipient of a comprehensive collection of the famous fossils in the Florissant shales-ancestors of our Appalachian hardwoods. Meanwhile the superheated waters from the great volcanic stocks of the past have through millions of years brought their treasures from the depths and have deposited them in PEGMATITEES-and such a collection of these minerals at our Station! Yes, the demands of industry on geology and our emphasis on this subject are fast bringing Waynesburg College into prominence. I'll tell you more about pegmatites in next year's card
