  Title:
Pueblo Girl Weaving A Sash
Divided Back PM 1919

Description:
Today the art of weaving is practically confined to three peoples. The Zuni, the Hopi and the Navaho. The looms used by the Hopi are of two kinds - a small heddle loom used in the manufacture of belts - hair strings - and garters. The other is the typical loom used by primitive peoples of many parts of the world. In spite of its apparent simplicity the Hopi produce all the blankets, dresses, kilts and sashes worn by both men and women.
