Built 1750. The White House, Augusta, Ga., where Col. Brown, a British Officer, is said to have been besieged by Americans. On the point of surrender he was relieved by reinforcements and captured 30 wounded Americans. He had 13 of these hanged just outside of his door and turned the others over to the Indians to be tortured.
